Features

A quiet, complete companion.

Everything below is in the app today, works with no connection once you've installed it, and stays on your device. Where something needs the internet — or isn't built yet — you'll find it said plainly further down.

Today

A verse to start with, your streak, and a single tap to bring a prayer or write down a thought. It's the first thing OurFold shows you, and it's meant to take a minute, not an hour.

The whole Bible, offline

Two complete public-domain translations — the World English Bible and the King James Version — carried on your device with no connection needed. Clean typography made for long sittings, six highlight colours, a saved-verse list, and your place remembered.

A read-aloud voice reads a chapter to you hands-free, using your device's own voices at a pace and warmth you set. It reads while OurFold is open on screen; listening with the phone locked in your pocket needs the Android app, which is still on the way.

A private prayer life

Bring a need or a praise, and mark I prayed as the days go by. When something is answered, write down how — and it becomes a testimony you can look back on. Over a season you can see God's faithfulness laid out plainly.

Your prayers never leave your phone. No one reads them — not us, not an advertiser.

A rhythm you can keep

Short reading plans through Scripture, with your progress kept when you switch between them. Gentle streaks, weekly goals you set yourself, and milestones as you go — encouragement, not a scoreboard.

Add a journal entry as reflection, gratitude or testimony. Turn on a daily reminder at the hour that suits you. And back the whole thing up to a file you keep — no cloud involved.

Your own calendar

Keep the things you don't want to miss — a visit, a fast, a plan, someone to call. It's personal and offline, and it stays that way; a shared congregation calendar is a separate, opt-in thing we're still building.

What needs the internet

Three things, and that's the whole list:

  • Your first sign-in. OurFold asks for a username and a PIN before it opens, so your account can be restored on a new phone. Creating or restoring that account needs a connection once. After that OurFold opens offline, every time.
  • Accepting the terms. The first time, your acceptance is recorded on our side with a date — that's a privacy-law requirement, and it's disclosed on the screen where you accept it.
  • Loading the app itself. Which is exactly why installing matters: once installed, the app and both Bibles are on your device and none of this is needed again.

Everything else — reading, praying, journalling, plans, highlights, the calendar, backups — happens entirely on your phone.

What isn't built yet

Marked in development inside the app, and worth being clear about here:

  • Church connection — a shared prayer wall, message board, sermon summaries, directory and congregation calendar. Opt-in when it lands.
  • Find a church nearby — an OpenStreetMap search by denomination, behind its own consent step.
  • OurFold Assistant — a small model that downloads once and runs entirely on your phone. Android app only.
  • Screen-locked listening and the Google Play release — both need the native Android build.

Install it in about ten seconds.

Straight from your browser — no app store — and then it's offline and yours.
