Give

OurFold is free. It still costs something.

We decided early that nobody would pay for OurFold with their data. No ads, no trackers, nothing sold on. That leaves one honest way to keep it running and free for everyone — the people who can give, giving.

The Kickstarter runs for a fixed stretch and then it closes. Ko-fi is open any time, any amount, no account to keep. Neither one ever shows OurFold your card.

Live now

The Kickstarter is open.

Two of the things below cost money once, not monthly — the Google Play release, and packaging the Assistant to run on your phone instead of on a server. That's the shape a campaign is actually good for, so that's what it's for. The ordinary monthly bills stay with Ko-fi.

Funded or not, every feature in OurFold stays free to everyone. Kickstarter only collects if the campaign reaches its goal.

Where it goes

What your giving pays for.

OurFold is small and unglamorous to run. These are the actual line items.

Keeping the lights on

Hosting ourfold.net, the domain, and the small sign-in service that lets you get your account back if you lose your phone. It's modest, it's monthly, and it never stops.

The Android app on Google Play

The native build — the one that keeps reading Scripture aloud with your phone in your pocket. Play charges a developer registration before a single person installs it.

OurFold Assistant, on your phone

Packaging a small language model that runs on the device rather than a server. Doing it server-free is more work up front; it's the only version we're willing to ship.

Free for the person who can't give

A gift keeps OurFold free for someone in a hospital room, on a prepaid phone, or somewhere a faith app is a risk to have. They will never know it was you.

Plainly

What giving doesn't buy.

It unlocks nothingThere is no paid tier and there won't be one. Every feature in OurFold is free to everyone, whether they give or not.
It doesn't buy your dataThere isn't any to buy. Your prayers and journal stay on your device — the same for givers and non-givers alike.
It isn't expectedIf money is tight, install OurFold, use it, and don't give this page another thought. That is genuinely the point.

OurFold is made by Debe Corporation — a company, not a registered charity. A gift here is a gift, not a tax-deductible donation.

Costs nothing

Other ways to help.

Every one of these is worth more to OurFold than a small gift, and none of them cost you anything.

Install it, and use it

An app that's actually opened is the reason to keep building it. Installing also puts the Bible on your device, where it can't be taken away.

Pray for it

For the people who open OurFold at 3am, and for the wisdom to keep it honest as it grows. We mean this one literally.

Give what you can. Or give nothing at all.

OurFold stays free and private either way. That was the promise before there was anything to give to.
